Nordic propane R290 monoblock air/water heat pump
The Nordic propane R290 air-to-water heat pump is the combination of the greenest heat pump solution and the latest technology. The Nordic propane R290 air/water heat pump is available in many different sizes in terms of capacity, and more sizes are on the way. The Nordic propane R290 can be used for both private home installations and commercial installations. When sizing for a house installation, it is sized based on the capacity at an ambient temperature of -7°C. The Nordic propane R290 air/water heat pump can be used for both new constructions and as a replacement for gas or oil boilers in existing homes.
The Nordic propane R290 air/water heat pump handles both heating and the production of domestic hot water in one unit. There have generally been large price increases on all the well-known brands such as Panasonic, LG, Vølund, and Vaillant air-to-water heat pumps. With the imminent introduction of propane by the well-known players, the price will increase further. With the Nordic propane R290, we are able to maintain the same price level as traditional chemical refrigerant solutions such as R32, R410A, etc.
What is propane, and why is it a good refrigerant?
Propane consists of three carbon atoms and is classified as a hydrocarbon. It is also used in bottled gas. Propane is a flammable refrigerant. It is a colorless gas with a boiling point of -42.09°C. It is the chemical composition and physical properties that make propane the optimal refrigerant solution in air/water heat pumps. High water temperatures of up to 70°C can be achieved without high refrigerant pressure, unlike R32 and R410A. This high temperature is a great advantage for Legionella prevention and when the heat pump replaces an existing gas or oil boiler. Water systems in older homes, designed for gas or oil boilers, may require higher water temperatures than heat pumps with R32 and R410A can provide. R290/propane has similar properties to R22, which was previously the most widely used refrigerant for air/water heat pumps. The chemically manufactured refrigerant R22 was phased out many years ago due to its harmful impact on the greenhouse effect. One of the main reasons to choose propane and the Nordic propane R290 heat pump is that the refrigerant does not contain PFAS and PFOS.
Propane refrigerant will be the only refrigerant solution in the future. Why use traditional chemical refrigerants containing PFAS and PFOS when they are harmful to human health and the environment? All heat pump suppliers known on the Danish market, such as Panasonic, LG, Vølund, Vaillant, etc., will soon present propane solutions if they haven’t already. The Nordic propane R290 private label is the propane heat pump solution at the right price. The propane R290 solution is just as eligible for subsidies as heat pumps with other refrigerants.
The Nordic propane R290 heat pump is only available as a monoblock solution. To comply with strict regulations related to the refrigerant, the liquid/gas must not enter the building. Therefore, split solutions, which have been very popular, can no longer be used.
The Nordic propane R290 air/water heat pump comes with full monitoring from the moment it is connected to the power supply.
The Nordic propane R290 air/water heat pump is the greenest solution in heat pump technology due to the refrigerant. There are no other alternatives.
The refrigerant R290 is a flammable liquid/gas, but the design of the machine, due to very strict regulations, ensures that there is no risk in using it.
Private customers can have their electricity price reduced if their consumption exceeds 4,000 kWh per year. Therefore, it is an advantage to both acquire an air/water heat pump and an electric car. Many people opting for district heating forget this. Again, this is an important reason to avoid the very expensive district heating solution. Choosing district heating ties you to a large debt, whereas with a heat pump, you can switch electricity suppliers.
The GWP value for R290 or propane is 3, which is a significant reason to choose this solution. GWP stands for Global Warming Potential, which measures how harmful a refrigerant is to the environment. The GWP value is a critical factor in choosing the R290 refrigerant for an air/water heat pump instead of R32 or R410A, both of which have GWP values exceeding 700.
Propane refrigerant for air-to-water heat pumps is the replacement for the well-known chemical refrigerants R22 and R502. As previously mentioned, these were phased out due to their highly damaging effect on the greenhouse effect. R290, used in air/water heat pumps, is a hydrocarbon refrigerant with the chemical formula C3H8. R290 or propane used in air/water heat pumps is not dangerous, even though it is both flammable and explosive. During the operation of the heat pump, the refrigerant circulates in a hermetically sealed piping system that only contains propane. The refrigerant is only flammable and explosive when mixed with oxygen (O2) and exposed to heat or an open flame. As long as the refrigerant does not escape from the system, no dangerous situation can arise. The closed system in the heat pump is only within the machine, which is placed outside the house or building where the air-to-water heat pump is used as a heating source. Should a leak occur in the piping system, all electrical components used in the machine have been carefully tested to ensure they do not generate sparks that could ignite the propane. In summary, a fire or explosion cannot occur unless all of the following conditions are present: the right mixture of oxygen and propane, a spark, or an open flame. The amount of refrigerant in the heat pump is very small, so in the event of a leak, the concentration of propane will quickly become so low that the correct mixture ratio is not present. Propane is also used in stoves in caravans and circulates inside the caravan. It is very rare to hear about accidents involving propane in this setting, so why should there be a greater risk when using the refrigerant in a heat pump?
We look forward to delivering your new Nordic propane R290 air-to-water heat pump.
